current projects

At present, I am working on a number of projects. These include:

  • Analysing sales and advertising of telecommunications products;
  • Collecting ethnographic data;
  • Co-authoring a book chapter on the use of IMC in the food industry to target children;
  • Trying to understand insurance contracts;
  • Writing my book, Selling Happiness;
  • Research into the use of film to persuade smokers to quit;
  • Research into branding arts and culture in Australia and Europe;
  • Avoiding terms such as Generation Y, Generation X, and Baby Boomers (because they oversimplify incredibly complex attitudes and behaviour);
  • Exploring the tribal nature of “difficult” brands;
  • Examining the effects of implicit and explicit attitudes on behaviour, particularly amongst vulnerable groups, and,
  • Watching “Arrested Development”, again.
